Revolutionizing Healthcare for Seniors

        Our Vision
We believe every senior deserves access to therapies that are safe, effective, and aligned with their biology. By championing ECS restoration and legal, hemp-derived cannabinoid innovation, The Commonwealth Project is leading a national movement to modernize aging care—empowering providers, protecting patients, and reshaping the future of American healthcare.
The ECS is a biological system, just like the immune, nervous, or respiratory systems, that plays a central role in regulating pain, sleep, immune function, and neurological health. Discovered in 1990s, the ECS has been studied extensively through NIH-funded research, and is found to decline with age and tied with various chronic conditions.
The Commonwealth Project aims to champion the need to restore the ECS, which can be most effectively impacted by CBD. While hemp-derived CBD was legalized through the Farm Bill in 2018, there are no FDA standards regulating CBD products for which 20% of seniors report usage today. We are on a mission to advance a new generation of health policy and healthcare to prioritize safety, science, and the patient’s choice to try alternative therapies.

Integrating legal, hemp-derived CBD Into Senior Health Programs Could Profoundly Transform Senior Care
Seniors have the highest health care costs and rates of hospital utilization, and nearly one-third take five or more pharmaceuticals every day. As a result, too many seniors are straddled with high costs and low efficacy rates, which legal, hemp-derived CBD wholly side steps.
Seniors are already the fastest growing group of legal, hemp derived CBD users in the United States, and many are already using cannibis as a transformative solution for age-related conditions like chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, nausea from cancer treatment, and even neurodegenerative disorders like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Integrating legal, hemp-derived CBD into existing programs like Medicare Advantage could provide millions of seniors with life-changing alternative therapies at a fraction of the cost of traditional pharmaceutical drugs.
